Emergence

Emergence explores the quiet transformation that begins from within. Rooted in the earth yet illuminated from within, these ceramic light sculptures reflect the journey of grounding ourselves while remaining open to our own inner light. Inspired by nature and the beauty of impermanence, they invite us to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with ourselves.

Overview of the Emergence exhibition featuring ceramic light sculptures by Nathalie Hunter.
Porcelain light sculpture composed of two stacked organic forms with carved details and subtle color accents, suggesting a flower about to bloom.

Hiraku (開く) means to open or to unfold. Like a flower before it blooms, this sculpture speaks of transformation that begins quietly, from within. It reminds us that growth cannot be forced—it emerges when we create space for it.

High-fired stoneware light sculpture inspired by an opening flower, with subtle porcelain details, carved textures, and soft blue, yellow, and pink accents.

Kaika (開花) means to blossom. Every transformation begins quietly. Like a flower opening to the light, we reveal our true nature not by striving, but by growing into who we already are.
